What is Kangen Water®?
Kangen, a Japanese word meaning "return to origin," refers to the concept of restoring water to its natural, pure form: living and structured. Kangen Water® is produced by Enagic’s machines, which take tap water and filter out harmful contaminants. Besides filtration, the machine uses electrolysis to restructure the water, creating hydrogen-rich, ionized alkaline water. Besides drinking water, the machine produces other types of waters that can be used for drinking, cooking, skin care, remedies and cleaning. The drinking water setting on a Kangen machine offers pH levels from 7.0 neutral water up to 9.5 which is alkaline water enriched with molecular hydrogen, a powerful antioxidant. Active Molecular Hydrogen
Molecular hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the world, it can reach the mitochondria, the powerhouse of our cells, to repair, protect, hydrate and reduce inflammation. Potentially aiding in recovery for several conditions. Since molecular hydrogen is an antioxidant, it can help slow down the aging process by reducing oxidative stress, a key factor in cellular aging. One of the fastest ways to slow your aging is by drinking water rich in molecular hydrogen. Study shows that aging happens when free radicals damage your DNA and cell membranes, but antioxidants slow down this process. Molecular hydrogen water is the most potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory water on the planet.
Electrolyzed Reduced Water
Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW) is the technical name for Kangen Water®. It is produced through a process called electrolysis: where electric current is passed through the water to separate it into oxygen and hydrogen gas, dissolving large amounts of molecular hydrogen (H2) into the water. It is electrically modified water, not chemically modified.
Antioxidant (ORP)
ORP stands for Oxidation-Reduction Potential and measures the ability of a substance to either be an oxidant (positive ORP) or antioxidant (negative ORP). ORP values are an essential measurement for determining the quality of water. The antioxidant level in 1 glass of Kangen Water® is equivalent to 1 kg of blueberries or 16 cups of green tea. In the human body, oxidative damage has been implicated in many of our modern day diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
Living Water
In living or structured water, the molecules are organized in a hexagonal structure, similar to the way water appears in natural environments such as fresh springs or streams. This formation enhances the water’s ability to be absorbed by the body’s cells, leading to more effective hydration and improved overall function. Living water is often compared to the water found in nature, before it is processed through treatment plants. It’s thought to carry more energy and vitality. Bottled water, tap and reverse osmosis are considered dead water.
Alkalized Water
Alkalized water, produced through electrical ionization rather than chemical additives like store-bought varieties, supports the body in maintaining a balanced pH. Our diets, stress, and exposure to environmental toxins often lead to increased acidity in the body. PH 11.5 - Strong Kangen Water
Not for drinking. Oil-emulsifier. Use to soak & wash off pesticides from produce, clean ovens, replace makeup remover, laundry detergent, epson salt in bath, treat migraines.
PH 8.5-9.5 - Kangen Water
This is your everyday drinking water! Hydrates at the cellular level, detoxifying due to antioxidants in molecular hydrogen (those little bubbles you see). Use this water for coffee/ tea and cooking.
PH 7.0 - Clean Water
For feeding infants, pets or drinking while taking medication. This is essentially just super clean water, it does not have the antioxidant component.
PH 6.0 - Beauty Water
Skin toner, thermal water, facial cleanser, hair conditioner, water plants, fabric softener, glass, mirror cleaner.
PH 2.5 - Strong Acidic Water
Not for drinking. This water is highly acidic and can replace all household cleaning products. Can also be used to treat acne, replace deodorant, clean/ disinfect wounds & burns, used to brush teeth & gargle, and makes an excellent throat spray to fight off sickness. 10x more powerful at disinfecting than bleach.
